I tried my best to get into this book. I gave it 260 pages, which is far more than I usually give a book I don't like. But after setting it aside twice to read something else and finding myself reluctant to pick it up again, I knew it was time to give it up. This book has a needlessly jumbled, non-linear storyline (with clearly marked time periods at the beginning of each chapter, but still), and I soon found myself not giving a crap about the characters in any of their iterations. I also heartily disliked the protagonist. My TBR pile is far too high for me to waste my time with something I'm not enjoying, so I'm cutting my losses and moving on.
